This well maintained 3500 square foot, 5 acre, 3 level, custom log home will meet and exceed your expectations for a mountain vacation. The home backs up to the Pisgah National Forest with miles of hiking trails, rivers, streams and waterfalls with amazing views. A true nature lovers and hikers dream come true!
The home is located in Catawba Falls Preserve, a gated mountain community preserve with paved roads located just 9 miles (15-20 minutes) from the town of Black Mountain and 23 miles (30-35 minutes) from Asheville. The house backs up to the Pisgah National Forest and is the home for an abundance of wildlife including black bear, deer, turkey, birds and many other animals.
This log home is over 3500 square feet. The property sits on over 5 acres of pristine mountain property. The king master bedroom is on the main level. Bedroom 2 and 3 are on the upper level and each has a queen bed. There is one full bathroom on the upper level. Bedroom 4 is on the lower level has a twin bed, a bunk bed with a full and twin on top and a full bathroom. There is a sofa bed on the lower level as well as a twin bed. The home can accommodate 10 in beds plus another 2 on the pull out sofa bed. If you are traveling with kids, they will love having the lower level to themselves with a large den, TV with DVD and games. The internet is through Skyrunner is very good for most basic needs including surfing, streaming, zooming, etc.
The property is very quiet, peaceful and private with breathtaking views all around. The deck wraps around with plenty of seating and relaxing. There is a large back deck for entertaining. The hot tub is behind the home in a private area. This is the place for relaxing and enjoying the long range mountain views and listening to the sounds of nature. There is a trail next to the home that leads down to the Catawba River with multiple waterfalls. It will take about 10-15 minutes to hike down to the river. Once down there, there is a trail along the river to hike to a nice waterfall close by. The Catawba Falls are further down the trail – about 30 minutes.
There is plenty of space on the front lawn for your kids to play while you relax on the decks and enjoy the mountain views. For nature lovers, there is hiking, waterfalls and abundant wildlife in the Preserve.
The home and kitchen are very well stocked with all your basic supplies needed for your vacation week. The beds are all made up prior to your arrival and we provide towels and linens. There is both a regular drip and Keurig coffee maker.
We keep our availability calendar up to date. Please check our calendar before inquiring about availability. We respond to all email inquiries right away or within a few hours. We have a 3-4 night minimum requirement in the off season (Sept, Nov-May excluding holidays and spring break) and may have a 7 night minimum on peak weeks in season (Memorial Day through Labor Day) and all holidays and spring break. Please do not inquire for less than 3 nights.
We are pet friendly. Up to 2 well behaved dogs permitted with $195 pet rent fee.
